Water all newly planted trees well for the first year – it takes at least a year for new roots to develop deep into the soil for the tree to be fully settled in.
As the New Year brings a fresh beginning, start as you mean to go on and keep on top of those jobs like weeding and pruning. You can also start sowing tomatoes, chillies and onions seeds indoors for planting out later.
