I am not sure you should line your planters, as they need to be able to drain, especially in the winter. Have they been made with drainage holes in the bottom? If you are placing some of them directly on the grass, put them on bricks to allow the water to drain...

This is just a suggestion. I notice we have various forums on lawns, fruit and vegetables, trees, etc., but there isn't a specific place to post regarding flowers/flowering plants. Perhaps one would be an idea?
